REUNITED
PROLOGUE
WE ran through the down when I fell ,falling, falling falling I cried out but no one herd me as the siren called out to warn us of the Nazis. I heard someone crying next to me so I looked over and there she was. A young toddler so cute but scared . I knew I had to save her. I couldn't walk, I knew that as my leg was twisted at a weird angle. A high pitched scream pierced the air. I had to save her . Ignoring the pain in my leg and now my right arm, I stumbled up the impossibly steep hill. A blaze had started behind me, where id been lying. I ran to the nearest house banging n the door to the shelter when they opened the door I handed them the girl then collapsed
CHAPTER1
"SKYE!"
My head hurt my legs felt as though they were being trampled on. Cautiously I opened one eye. There was someone sitting on a bench with a young child. I recognized them, had I seen them before?
"Oh thank goodness, your awake"
I tried to move but the pain that soared through my body was unreal, like eleephans stampeding in a with forest pounding feet.
I thought I was dead, to be truthful everyone did, the doctors, nurses, everyone. I could hear them saying things like "she's dead." For a few days everything was still black, and now slient. It was scary I thought I wss dead , whe I woke up with some one stroking my forehaed , like a mother does when their child is ill.
My face must have shown worry as she said "don't move lass, don't worry"she spoke gently , like you do with a frightened horse "dont move , its okay. You can remember me , cant you , I'm Daphne, you saved my daughters life.
CHAPTER 2
Drifting in and out of consciousness, I can't remember much about that week underground .We were together. There was a gap between bricks where we got our water. Although I was weak, I knew one thing- me and Lilly would make it out alive. Together . Today.
The rescue operation lasted longer than a day. My mind started swimming as I felt a trickle of something down my neck. I thought it was water. I was wrong. It was blood. There was a gash as deep and as long as your hand on my forehead. I couldn't hold on much longer.
