Curiosity

As he watched the needle pierce his flesh, he wondered why he'd changed his mind. Was it because House had presented a sound argument? No…that wasn't it. Was it because he was afraid of death? No, he was very much acquainted with death so it had lost most of its sting for him. Was he doing it for himself, because he wanted to live longer than a handful of months? Or was he doing it because of the dread and fear he saw every time those blue eyes looked at him when their owner thought he wasn't looking?

No, it was for none of those reasons. He had changed his mind because of his best friend's incredible sacrifice, and the love he saw every time he looked into cobalt blue eyes. Something had changed in House, something fundamental, and Wilson would be damned if he was going to die before he figured out what had caused the change and how that change was going to play out. He guessed it might take years to fully satisfy his curiosity, and without changing his mind he knew he wouldn't last that long. So there he was with a needle in his arm.
