Disclaimer: I don't own FMA. I just obsess about it…

Warning: If you don't like yaoi or Roy Ed turn back now!

This is also my first attempt at any kind of yaoi so please cut me some slack.

Ed took a deep breath and sighed. The clock next to the bedside table read a little after three in the morning. The waning moonlight streamed in through the dusty window leaving a glowing trail on the dark sheets of the bed and light carpeting of the floor. The body pressed up against his back was warm, solid, and comfortable. A soft caress of breath from the sleeping body swayed the hair around his face, tickling his nose. He relished in the sensations until he started to lose the feeling in his flesh foot at which time he gently picked it up off the bed twisting it this way and that to get the circulation going again.

Determined to get at least another hour or two of sleep he closed his eyes and listened to the deep, even breathing body next to him. Edward had almost fallen back to sleep when the body behind his started grumbling quite loudly. It was saying things. Things not meant to be heard by his ears. Things that his lover would not tell him while awake.

He felt like he was intruding on something, hearing whispered prayers to people who had long been dead. His lover was seeking comfort in his sleep. The demons were plaguing him. Is it enough that he deals with this while he's awake? Now he has to deal with it in his dreams, too?

Ed knew he had to stop it when the body behind him starting quivering and jerking. When Edward turned around Roy's eyelids were twitching sporadically. His face had caved in on itself and water was gathering in the lashes of those beloved eyes. He tried to shake Roy awake but it was useless. He had learned time and again that these things needed to be waited out but that didn't make it any easier.

Smoothing down thick black hair and whispering comforts into his lover's ear was all he could do until the dream played itself out. Moments later ebony eyelashes flickered open gazing adoringly into auric eyes, silently thanking him. Dark eyes knew that no thanks were even necessary. This was just something they did for each other.
