Bobby supposes that it's ridiculous to focus on something so mundane, so plain and unnoticed by normal people, though it's not like Bobby ever considered himself to be normal.
He has a fixation, an intense need to watch Jack's hands, fingers really. Not so much as when he's lighting yet another cigarette or idly strumming his guitar, though he admires the way Jack's fingers slide over the strings, his eyes half-closed, blissful as he plays.
It's more the way he eats, the way he curls those long fingers around his fork, his roughened thumbs rubbing against his index finger as he pierces the food with the metal tines.
Bobby lets his imagination out during meals, thoughts he'd never speak of aloud, words that would never pass his lips, regardless of how he ached to.
If Jack notices, he doesn't say anything. Bobby's blank face during meals belies the mixture of feelings, wants and desires that blink and disappear if they make any contact with Jack's curious, too-blue eyes.
He settles for watching Jack eat his food, as often as he can. Bobby lowers his eyes, watching as always, when he catches Jack ever so slightly smirking at him.
He's caught.
