"Hey Sasuke!" she had chirped over on the phone on Monday. "I'm bored. Can I come over?"

He had replied sure, come on over, nobody was home.

She knocked on his door, in her shorts-that were just-just-just below the curve of her butt- and her stolen shirt and her signature turquoise sunglasses.

They ended up eating all the cookies his mom baked lying on their backs, her head on his stomach.

Tuesday she came over the same all over again, except her hair was in these adorable messy buns on her head with sticky-outy bits.

He silently reminisced when she was his secret girlfriend and he was her secret boyfriend and that she always had her hair in different styles every hour.

But instead he had to settle for best friend when Gaara came around, and confessed to her.

-

Wednesday he had come over to her house instead but she asked him to on Tuesday.

He forgot about that stupid step into the kitchen and fell on her by accident.

He grimaced and apologized, but she dug out her family's expensive champagne and toasted awkward random accidents.

He slept over.

-

He woke up in her bed on Thursday, fully clothed, with her cuddling into his side, clinging to his arm.

She didn't murmur his name, but she murmured her boyfriend's name.

He decided to kiss her, for old time's sake and that she was asleep, but she woke up when he did.

She slapped him and ordered him out of the house.

He sat on her front steps for a while, smelling the burning eggs and batter and fat and chocolate.

-

Friday he watched from inside his house as she ran out to meet Gaara and throw her arms around him and kiss him like no tomorrow.

It nearly broke his heart to watch, but tortuously he kept watching.

He could see her mouth that 'thank god it's Friday!'

And he saw him agree, and lift her up into his arms for another passionate kiss.

Sasuke stared as he gave her a ring, in which she responded by screams of delight that even he could hear through all the wood and glass and insulation.

It pained him to hear her answer.

He turned away from the window only when she and Gaara left walking away towards Ino's house.

-

Sasuke didn't bother to count the days anymore but it took too long for the engaged couple to come and show off their engagement to him.

Inspired by His Girl Friday by The Academy Is…

…Yup. That's it, really. One sided SasuSaku with the hint of GaaSaku.

Figured that Sasuke deserved it.

Both Gaara and Sakura were due for some happiness anyways. :D
