It was a warm, clear night in LA. Pete and Addison lay on the beach, feet buried in the cool sand.

"I love the stars" Pete said, lying down on his back.

"Mmmm me to" Addison sighed, following suit.

"I wanted to be an astronomer when I was about 15" Pete said, staring at the sky that was littered with millions of diamond like stars.

"You did?!" Addison replied.

"Mmhmm. I got a telescope for my 15th birthday and every night I would sit and look through it at all the stars, planets and the moon. It was probably the best present I ever got" Pete said.

"You would've made a hot astronomer" Addison said, rolling over and planting a kiss on his lips.

"Thanks. So what did you want to be when you were 15?" he asked her.

"When I was 15 I had my mind set on being a professional musician. I had been playing the clarinet for 3 years and I was pretty good at it but then my grades started to slip and my parents made me give it up." She replied.

"I didn't take you for the musical instrumentalist type!" Pete admitted, wrapping his arm around her.

"Yeah I don't think many people do" Addison replied.

"I'm really glad I didn't become an astronomer and you didn't become a musician though" Pete said.

"Why's that?" Addison asked, staring up at the sky again.

"Cause then we wouldn't be here, together" he answered, kissing her on the cheek.

Suddenly a shooting star shot across the sky.

"Fate is a funny thing" Addison sighed.
