AN: This one gave me fits. Thanks a lot, Jess. I love this pairing, but have recently discovered that writing it is a you-know-what. As always, drop us a comment or a PM for requests or reviews!
Enjoy my drabble-y dabbling into the wonderful world of the Marauders!

The moon hung low in the sky, a hazy half-circle just visible through the cloud cover of the brisk October night. The wind blew softly, rustling the leaves of the trees and interrupting the smooth mirror-finish of the Black Lake into small ripples racing across the surface. Two students made their way along its shoreline, ducking between hiding places to make their way around the lake. Suddenly, one snatched the other back.
"What was that for?" He demanded, pulling himself out of the other's grip and around to face him.
The other boy glared at him through sandy bangs and gestured around them.
"What are we doing?"
"Why Moony, I thought that was obvious."
"Sirius."
"I mean, midnight jaunt beside the lake, just the two of us… thought it was obvious."
"Sirius, regardless of the rumors you and James find it humorous to perpetuate, I am not, and have never been, in a relationship with you."
Sirius gasped, as if struck. "But Remus, my love, why would you deny us?"
Remus shoved him, chuckling. "Seriously though."
"I am!"
"Sirius!"
Sirius grinned sheepishly. "Would you believe me if I said we were stargazing?"
Remus looked up at the sky pointedly.
Sirius huffed. "You're no fun, Moony."
"Really, Sirius, did you drag me out of my nice, warm bed in the middle of the night solely to annoy me? Because I'm beginning to get that impression."
"I said I had a surprise, and I do." Sirius scoffed. He held out a bag for Remus to see.
"Zonko's? We're going to sabotage James's date, aren't we?"
Sirius grinned proudly. "We'll make a prankster out of you yet."
Remus grinned back, shaking his head. "As long as Lily will speak to me again by Tuesday."
Sirius rolled his eyes. "It's not like Potions is even hard."
"Not all of us can be as naturally gifted as you. Some of us have to work for our grades."
"Or get pretty red-headed Potions partners to do it for you."
It was Remus's turn to roll his eyes. "Come on. If we're going to get this done in time for me to get back to sleep, we'll have to get moving."
