Zoro sleeping through most of the day, even during meals was normal. Zoro sleeping during his training time wasn't. So, when Sanji had mentioned after breakfast that the 'muscle head' hadn't been 'clunking around on deck' that morning, Luffy had bounced off to check on his swordsman. He had bounced back a minute later to tell Chopper that he couldn't get Zoro to wake up.
The little doctor made his way down to the boy's cabin to find Zoro sleeping, sweaty and feverish. It was interesting, Chopper mused, removing the thermometer from Zoro's mouth, that multiple mortal wounds barely fazed Zoro, while the common fever could keep him down.
The rest of Chopper's day was spent at Zoro's side, trying to bring the man's temperature to a less dangerous level. It was after dusk when some combination of Chopper's cold compresses, Sanji's iced drinks, and Luffy's order to 'make Zoro stop being so hot' finally worked and Zoro's fever broke.
As the other boys got into their pajamas and starting preparing for bed, Chopper declared that he'd be staying up that night to get Zoro's temperature down the rest of the way and to make sure the fever didn't return.
It happened at midnight, when Chopper was leaning over to replace the cloth on Zoro's forehead with a damper one. Zoro turned in his sleep, causing Chopper to loose his balance and fall onto Zoro. The little reindeer went to get up, only to find that one of Zoro's muscular arms had been thrown over his back, trapping him. Fighting down his first reaction, panicking, Chopper decided to try something that wouldn't wake his patient.
"Um… help… somebody." Chopper's quiet pleas were met with snores and a mumbled something that sounded very much like 'meat'. Knowing that Zoro still needed rest, Chopper decided to make the best of things, and let himself sleep.
When morning came, Zoro woke to an odd sensation. Someone was sleeping on him. Not that someone sleeping on him was odd, but that someone was usually taller, less furry, and…not Chopper.
Zoro's first thought was to get up, turn over someone's hammock, and ask why Chopper was using him for a pillow. That thought process was derailed as Chopper snuggled into him, sighing peacefully. Zoro (deciding that maybe explanations could wait) tightened his hold on Chopper and settled back into sleep.
