It was a sunny afternoon in Konoha, the warm breeze caused the jade leaves in the trees to rustle in a melodious chorus. A young man along with his canine companion sat in the cooling shade beneath an abnormally tall elm, birds of various sizes and colors flitted above them. The young man under the tree stirred, his eyes opening lazily and his mouth opening in a growling yawn that stretched and slightly contorted the maroon fang-shaped markings on his cheeks. He sat up slowly and turned slightly to scratch his pillow, a large dog, before changing his gaze to peer at the azure sky.

"Heh. How long do you think we've been napping here, Akamaru?" he asked the enormous white dog while scratching the back of his head lazily and fighting back another yawn. The dog growled lightly in response and lifted his head to kindly nuzzle his owners ribcage, causing him to burst out in boisterous, carefree laughter. The happy giggle of a girl reached Kiba's sensitive ears, and he turned his head to the direction from whence it came; through the dense greenery he could see the vague shape of a young female moving gracefully through the trees.

"Hey! Who are you?" He called through the trees as he stood, cupping one hand around his mouth and waving at the shadowed figure with another. Hesitantly the figure moved toward him, and he, being very familiar with how to coax animals to him, lowered into a crouch in order to appear less frightening. Twigs crunched when he saw that the girl had hidden behind the thick tree right in front of him; gently he encouraged her to move out from behind the tree with murmurs of "I'm not going to hurt you", "I have some food if you're hungry", and "It's alright, you're safe". She stepped out from behind the large elm with caution evident in every slight movement, her (e/c) pools were open wide like a fawns before a wolf.

"It's alright." Kiba cooed once more, stretching his hand up and out, eyes looking up expectantly, his melty chocolate irises warm and inviting. Tentatively the girl reached out her small (s/c)hand and grasped onto his lightly, some of the fear dissipating from her (e/c). Kiba was immediately entranced by her long (h/c) locks, creamy/sun-kissed/chocolatey (s/c), the pure innocence behind her cautious movements. Everything about her stirred the dog-like protective nature within his soul; it made him want to hold the girl tight to his broad chest and take her somewhere safe.

"Wh-who are you?" she asked, her words barely above a whisper, head lifting slightly to peer into his eyes; Kiba had to almost physically prevent himself from grabbing her and taking her back to the centre of the village.

"My name is Kiba. Kiba Inuzuka." he replied, flashing her a dazzling confident smile.
