The silence in the auditorium is deafening.

"Scream," he says, looking the other boy right in the eye. "I dare you."

Kurt looks down at his feet. "What's the point?"

"You tell me," Blaine says, knowing full well that there is no point to the exercise.

"But—"

"Kurt," says Blaine, catching Kurt's eye. "Trust me. The only person who's going to hear you is me." He shrugs. "Just do it."

So he does, letting out a long, drawn out scream.

"Do you feel better?" Blaine asks, after the echoes die down.

Kurt rolls his gray eyes. "I was fine before you made me do this, you know."

"But you didn't have to do it if you really didn't want to."

Kurt looks at his boyfriend, wrapping his arms around Blaine's neck, holding him close. "I know," he whispers in Blaine's ear. "I did it for you."

"You screamed for my sake? Really, and how does that help me? It certainly didn't help my hearing," Blaine smiles.

Kurt laughs, but it fades quickly when he sees Blaine staring at him, a look of interest in his eyes. "Kurt, I don't believe you did that for my sake, and that's a bullshit lie anyways."

There was no accusation in his voice, but Kurt shrinks back slightly. "First of all— language, Blaine." he scolds, before looking down sheepishly.

"Kurt, I'm sorry. You didn't have to listen to me."

"I know that. I..."

"What?" Blaine questions, breaking into a smile. "You can tell me," he says, taking Kurt's hand in his.

"It's stupid," Kurt begins, glancing up slightly. "but as soon as you told me to scream, this is what I thought of."

Kurt glances over his shoulder, as if to make sure they were alone.

"I think we can appreciate the quiet more. When it's quiet, I can tell you I love you, and no one has to know but you."

Blaine chuckles, pulling Kurt closer to him. "I love you so much," he whispers.

"I love you too," Kurt whispers back.

The auditorium is silent.
