"Oi, stop staring at him."
Normally, one would find the trio sat together with their friends. When it got cold they all huddled in the cafeteria instead of the benches outside, Takumi would offer Yū his sweater, or if he was feeling rather playful and wanted to tease Haruto he would offer Yū 'bodyheat' to keep her warm. However, Haruto's heated gaze and devious smirk kept her body temperature up so she would politely decline Takumi's wonderful offer.
Yū gave the black demon sat next to her a slightly exasperated look. "I can't help it. He seems so lonely over there on his own." She mumbled sadly and timidly shifted her gaze back to Takumi whom was sitting across the turf with his earbuds in. His eyes stayed closed unless one of his many female fans came over to greet him. The sun reflected off of his golden hair and Yū had to snap out of it when Haruto kicked her under the table.
"I said stop staring!" He grumbled and shot Yū a gaze as sharp as daggers.
"Sorry!" Her voice raised in pitch although she had much less fear for him than she did two months ago. She supposed he still wouldn't go easy on her even when they were dating but that was their routine and it wasn't as if he was mean to her all the time. He could express his true kind self when he wanted to. Yū assumed he just needed time to come out of his cold-hard shell.
When Haruto only looked down at his food and pushed it away half-heartedly, Yū sympathised and placed a hand on top of his own larger one. "Okay, I won't look." She leaned her head slightly on his shoulder, barely even touching it. "It just seems so unfair for him to isolate himself like this. He was fine when we started dating but now he's just…" she dared to sneak a look over at Takumi one last time that lunch hour, "…miserable."
Haruto sighed, he knew what was going on in his best friend's mind, so he knew that it would be best to just leave him to his own devices until he sorted his feelings out for Yū.
"He liked you as well, he needs time to adapt and tie off his feelings." The black-haired demon sighed once more and brought his arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. His touch was meant to be comforting but Yū still wasn't used to his affections, thus they brought a pink tinge to her otherwise pale face. Haruto noticed this and smirked.
"Get used to it, dog. You're mine." He whispered the last part directly in her ear and lightly nibbled on the shell of it, teasingly.
"Gah!" The otherwise quiet girl almost jump out of her seat, "I told you not to do that!" She rubbed her ear frantically and shrugged Haruto's arm off of her shoulders with an annoyed pout.
Haruto stroked the back of her head affectionately, chuckling at her incessant grumbling. He looked back over the where Takumi was sat a few minutes ago but he was nowhere to be seen. Felling his mood decrease, Haruto texted Takumi the four words that they both had been dreading.
'Meet me after school.'
