As Lucky As Can Be

The stars twinkled brightly in the dark night sky with the moon shining brightly in the center illuminating the world below. Sakura shifted on the blanket to get a better look at Naruto, who was lying right beside her on the blanket. As she gazed into his eyes she began to think of Naruto more and more.

I gaze into your eyes,
Divinely bluer than the sea,
And It's easy to believe
Someone's watching over me.
As we capture this moment together,
I really couldn't be more pleased.
For you are my past, present and future,
And I'm as lucky as can be.

Sakura's voice rang out as she shifted to snuggle into Naruto's shoulder a little more, "Hey Naruto?"

"Yeah Sakura?" He said smiling down at the gorgeous pink hair girl.

"I'm glad that I met you." She gave his arm a loving squeeze, smiling brightly.

"Me too Sakura… Me too…" using his free hand Naruto dug inside his pocket looking for something. He sat up from the ground and turned to face Sakura, his face unusually serious.

Sakura's gentle fingers brushed his cheek her eyes filled with concern, "What's the matter Naruto?" She was beginning to lose herself in his sapphire depths.

"Sakura Haruno," Naruto began looking back deep into her own emerald eyes, "will you marry me?" he asked.

Sakura gasped flinging her hands to mouth, tears of joy were being to form in her eyes, "Yes!" she cried out, "Yes! Of course I'll marry you, Naruto!" Sakura flung her arms around him bringing him into a tight warm hug. When Sakura released him from her grip, Naruto pulled her forward for a passionate kiss. They broke apart when their lack of air became too great. They fell back to the ground gazing at each other.

"I love you, Sakura."

"I love you too, Naruto. You have no idea how lucky I am to have you. You have no idea..."

AN: This is a joint fic written by my good friend and I. She's really gotten into poetry lately after she started to date her new boyfriend. This is actually something she wrote for him for their 3 month anniversary. When I read this for some reason I couldn't help but think of Naruto and Sakura and so I had to write the fic. This is my first Naru X Saku fic and I'm looking forward to writing more. I hope you all enjoyed it especially the poem.
