Outside Looking in On Terror In New York City
The Commander Of Sentinel's Point A View
When an unidentified object had been noticed on our scanners we didn't know what to expect. For our own safety I had no choice but to order a launch of the missiles to attack the unknown craft. So we were taking a chance because we honestly thought it was an enemy air craft at that time. We had to protect ourselves and that was how we were going to do it.
As we were attacked the unidentified craft, we had just launched the last two missiles, when we get a call from International Rescue. They had called us to tell us to stop the attack as it was an international Rescue craft that we were attacking. So we destroyed the remaining missiles and hoped that we didn't damage the craft too much or the pilot either.
After that happened we felt really awful about it, it was hard not to feel terrible after that. We hoped with all our hearts that the pilot was going to be ok and whoever it was is still alive for that matter. A few hours later we got a call from International Rescue once again, fearing the worst I dreaded answering but I swallowed my fear and answered the call. Thankfully they were merely asking us if we could transport thunderbird 4 to its carrier plan, Thunderbird 2.
We quickly picked up the International Rescue Agent along with Thunderbird 4 and then made our way to New York. When there IR Agent came aboard he didn't look too happy about the fact that we shot at the craft and in all honesty I guess we don't blame him because we had shot at his colleague. He had every right to be mad at us. He didn't really say anything to us but he wanted to get to this danger zone as fast as possible. Let's not forget here that he would not sit down for the entire journey, he stood the whole time. As soon as we slowed down. The IR Agent jumped into Thunderbird 4, merely telling us it would be quicker.
A few hours passed before we had to pick him back up again. Once he was aboard this time he actually started talking to us I guess now that the stress of the rescue was over he was more relaxed. He told us that his colleague would make a full recovery and that the Thunderbird craft could be fixed. We also told him how sorry we were that this had happened. We must apologised a thousand times and each time he simply said that it would be fine, we were glad to hear that everyone was alright in the end. We all make mistakes but shooting at a rescue craft will never happen again. For what we did to International Rescue we are deeply sorry, we were glad to be able to get them to get to the danger zone to save these two reporters'.
If I've learned anything from all of this it's to look before you leap.
