The Beholder

In the pagan book I found about it

Had to know where it sit

It lay not far where lived I

The lair of the dreadful tyrant eye

Carefully I crossed the hedge

To the forgotten pit

Putting my life in edge

At the craggy peak

The candle, I have placed in the nook

The bell with me remains

Amen for the said book

I hope to find shelter from my pains

For what I have done

Not ever should it had been even thought

To see that aberration squeezes my breastbone

And makes my being a tied knot

Despair has found me in this land

Without the broken key

There is no exit for me

I am trapped

Now that the end draws nigh

I can only hear my screams

And feel the shivers

Before this dreadful tyrant eye
