When I was born alongside my twin sister, Mabel, the old nurse that birthed us told our mother and father "I can sense great evil coming form these two". Her head made a very nice cracking sound when she "accidentally" fell to her death on my from a second story window on our 3rd birthday. Mabel has always loved dropping things from great heights; I can still remember the sparkle in her eye as she watched the blood make a pool around the old crown head. In the first grade I was picked on because of my strange birthmark that is shaped like the big dipper, forever branding me the nickname "Dipper". A name I will continue to loath for the rest of my life however, I did not hide my head in shame, every boy who laughed at me found himself with a broken noise or a pencil jammed into his hand and every girl who taunted me found herself with deep cuts that would spell out "bitch" or "freak. Mabel has always had a flair for the dramatic. It wasn't until I was 10 that things changed.
Mabel and I were sent to live in an out-of-the-way town named Gravity Falls deep in the Oregon forest with our great-uncle, Stanford Gleeful. This was because mother had found out that I had poisoned a boy from my school by sneaking arsenic into his drink and that Mabel had locked a girl in a closet and left her there for a day and a half. Stanford is an odd man who used to run an antiques shop before we meet him. I suppose in a way we are responsible for making him into the man he is today, a perfect pawn. One day I was out for a walk in the woods with Mabel, I had stopped to take my rest when the rock I had sat upon sank and clicked mechanically. We looked up on a hill-side to see a panel slide open in the ground, when we got to the opening we found the strangest thing. A book covered in dust and an amulet, I afforded it to Mabel thinking that she would like the jewelry but she said it was garbage and dropped it over my head to prove that it meant nothing to her. As soon as the metal touched my skin I felt a power surge through me and before I knew what I was doing, everything around me was floating. Mabel's eyes looked like moons but she could not move her it her body or open her mouth to scream or breath, she was turning a deep blue. I didn't know what so I just screamed "STOP!" and everything fell, I attempted to catch Mabel but I was too weak and we crumpled to the ground.
We kept this new power confidential for sometime only using it to influence Stanford for our benefit or to make someone we found too irksome, gouge out their eyes, but then Mabel came up with a genius plan. We called ourselves "The Gleeful twins, child psychics" and tricked Stanford into thinking that he ran the show never telling him about our true power or knowledge. We soon become the town most trusted and respected citizens and no one suspected us for any of the deaths that where stumping the local police. Things where going perfect until a new boy showed up and started nosing around in things that he could never hope to comprehend, his name is Gideon Pines. He lives with in a derelict building dubbed "The Mystery Shack" with his father for the summer and his mother in New York for the rest of the year. He has made a friend of Atlantica Southeast, a stupid silly little girl that brings Mabel no end of aggravation, and they go traipsing around Gravity Falls as if they have a clue. Somehow Gideon managed to find another Journal and has even made a few allies out of the creatures and knuckle dragging idiots of this desolate tiny town. I will have to remedy this station, perhaps he will run into an accident while out on one of his moronic expeditions. An accident that will get him impaled on a tree branch maybe and as for Atlantica I'm positive that Mabel already has plans for her.
