I waited next to a coffee shop, running my fingers across the black veins in my arm. I'd been scanning people that walked past me. Humans and wolves; claimed and unclaimed; pack wolf and lone wolf; easy targets and hard. A pack wolf would be too strong to steal from; a claimed human could have a wolf protector but a unclaimed human would be easy pickings. My eyes shifted from and locked on to my target. A black man with a plain top; silk pants and leather shoes walked alone.

I watched him weave in and out the crowd, going into different shops and eventually coming back out. He walked at a slow pace and his footing was almost clumsy, the typical human being. I moved from my spot and walked towards him. I kept one eye on the stores scanning their titles to keep up the appearance of shopping and the other on my target. As soon as I was close enough I bumped into him and quickly took the wallet out of his pocket.

"Sorry"

"It's no problem."

I walked away at a fast pace before I turned the corner and got myself lost the crowd. I quickly made my way to a public bathroom before pulling the wallet out of my pocket. I quickly scanned its contents before hiding it in my backpack.

I walked into the abandoned train station and placed my bag on the table before collapsing onto the old mattress.

"Stiles I'm home"

I closed my eyes and listened for the footsteps that would come and lecture me.

"WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING!" I dug my head further into the mattress.

"You're sick and you're walking around god knows where alone! Do you know how worried I've been!"

I sighed and sat up on the sofa before grabbing my bag.

"Rolls of toilet paper; filled water bottles ... and sixty dollars."

I placed the bag at the floor or Stiles' feet.

"Stiles... You don't have to worry about me. I can handle stuff on my own."

Her eyes burrowed into me.

"Most the time... I can handle stuff on my own, most the time."

She nodded her head at me given a small umm huh.

"The sixty dollars?"

"Erm..."

"Jake!"

"Fine. Wealthy guy, it's not like he's going to miss it."

She raised an eyebrow at me.

"You can't keep stealing things which belong to other people. It's wrong."

I rolled my eyes.

"In all fairness the water and the toilet rolls didn't belong to anyone."

She sat next to me and pointed.

"This can't happen again. I'm the adult here, you're still a kid."

Umm huh.

She stared at me.

"FINE. I won't steal anything. We should probably use some of that money to get some more pills though. "

I took the pills as soon as Stiles handed them to me, instantly popping them in my mouth and swallowing. I gritted my teeth together as the medicine took effect. It burned each vein in my body as it tried to fight against the infection.

"Hurts more and more each time." I gritted.

She cupped my face and looked at me.

"Just focus on me ok. Just listen to me ok. Listen to me."

"Hurts" I winced.

"Ok, only one more minute before it's done ok."

I gasped for air as the black veins in my arm started to subtract and the dark spots in my eyes started to fade into white. I fell out of my sisters hold and back onto the old sofa

" I hate the wolves that did this to me."

Stiles didn't say anything.
