"What the…I can't move on?"

"I am sorry, Severus." Gabriel stood solemnly before him. "Though your actions merit you an eternal rest in God's kingdom, I fear the fates have decreed otherwise."

At Snape's look he continued, "you have unfinished business."

"No I don't. I have left nothing behind on Earth."

Gabriel pointed on Earth, and the view zoomed until they could see a group of women, ages very young to very old, crying and mourning.

"What's going on?" He asked the angel.

"They want you back."

"But who ARE they?"

"Your fandom."

His eyes bugged out. "My WHAT?"

The angel smiled. "Surely you know Sherlock Holmes; and what his creator was forced to amend about his story."

"His death?" He remembered that Holmes died, but was resurrected by Arthur Conan Doyle to continue the story by popular demand.

"Exactly." Gabriel stated. "But all these people are crying for YOU, Severus Snape. Could you really find it in your heart to disappoint them?"

"No." He admitted.

"Wonderful. It's all settled then." He suddenly looked at Snape wearily. "There is one other tiny thing…"

"What?" He asked cautiously.

"They want you to live out your life with Potter."

"But James died."

"But Harry didn't." The angel's eyes danced.

Snape's eyes widened. "But," he spluttered, "would Potter be…amenable?" He coughed.

"Let's see." The angel fiddled with their viewing orb. "There he is." They both saw Harry in an 'interesting' position whispering Snape's name.

"I guess that settles it." He said resignedly. "When do I go back?"

"Right…NOW"

(POP!)

"SEVERUS!"

Sticky fluid soiled his robes. (Harry Potter's!)

He never inquired about Ginevra Weasley.
