**Author's note: This is a sonnet I wrote for class last year. I edited the last 2 lines because I originally thought that it only had to be a couplet. I was unaware that they had to be 10 syllables like the rest of the poem. So yeah, if you've read A Series of Unfortunate Events, then you'll probably get the inside jokes. Enjoy!**
Dear Lemony Snicket,
I have always admired your writing
because each sentence leaves me wanting more.
Your annual ramblings enticing
me to give in and finally adore.
Re-read each alliterated title,
wonder what adventure will happen next.
Laugh at The Grim Grotto's water cycle
as Klaus' brilliant words leave me vexed.
Can I read with Klaus? Can I invent with
Violet? Can I cook with Sunny? I
do not wish to live through your Book the Fifth
but to live through Hurricane Hermit's eye.
Even though Beatrice sleeps underground,
her voice carries on, whispering a sound.
