Prologue

Julia Evans was a strange child, no one could ever deny that. From the moment of her birth she had air of melancholy that surrounded her.

She'd been given the name Julia which meant youthful. Unfortunately it didn't seem to fit her there was nothing youthful about the girl. With startling gray eyes and a tuft of mousy brown hair she wasn't the prettiest of girls, but then again she never paid much attention to that much to mother's dismay. She didn't have many friends though many would say it was by choice. Julia seemed very disinterested in children her own age.

"They bore me." She told her grandmother when questioned about her lack of friends.

However there was one who was exempt from her criticism- Kyle Raeken. She'd met him when she was nine years old when he moved onto their street. No one knew what was said during their first encounter, but whatever it was it caused them to be inseparable. All through their childhood wherever Kyle was Julia was sure to follow and in the same token wherever she'd go Kyle was sure to follow.

Wherever Kyle was asked which was often by friends or parents why he hung out with the strange little Julia Evans, he would smile at them and give them the answer he gave everyone. "I don't understand her." And he didn't no matter how close they were he knew that there would never be a time where he would understand her.

Though Julia was close with Kyle there was someone else she was much closer to- her father. While her mother loved her daughter fiercely she never understood her. If anything the only thing the two could understand about the other was their love of history particularly the Tudor Era of England. Often times they would spend hours together watching documentaries and reading together.

As for her father they had a strange understanding of each other. Though they had a strange relationship sometimes it was as though her saw her a more of a burden than a child. Though this thought process mostly occurred after a few drinks. She felt she could understand him. Sometimes she'd look into his gray eyes like her own and see it. How his eyes danced with energy, giving his face the haunted look of a young man trapped in a body that had grown old long before its time. It was that look he had for all of his life and the one he would carry to his grave when he died when Julia was just 14.

As she grew older she tried connecting with the world and for a while it was okay. At eighteen she'd graduated as valedictorian from her high school and headed to Princeton to pursue her dream of becoming lawyer. She would have made a great lawyer. While she wasn't the most emotional creature by any means she was exceptionally intuitive. She was shrewd using her ability to perceive how others were feeling to get her way.

However this plan was cut short with two pink lines. Sitting in her bathroom back for spring break in her home town she thought back to the last time she'd seen Kyle. They had remained close are through middle and high school even when he became more popular and she became mildly friendly to everyone getting her own set of close friends. It was nice to have other friends to talk to, but she still felt so very strange. All throughout her life she'd felt like she'd didn't belong at least not really.

She doesn't remember much from that night all she remembers is Kyle and a only having a few beers- they'd used protection she thinks trying to force herself to remember what happened on what becoming increasing hazy memory of a New Years Eve party she'd attended. None the less she allowed herself to feel happy about it. As she wraps a dainty fingers around a locket on her neck her name etched into the gold she allows herself to feel a little hope. Telling herself that that everything would be alright. If only she had known how far from the truth she really was or else she wouldn't have dare hope.

That was five years ago and now things were much different now. Her life had fallen apart around her and all she could do was sit and watch. Kyle had married her, she told him he didn't have to, but he'd insisted wanting their child to have both of their parents. She'd given birth to precious to a beautiful baby boy they'd named Richard after her late father.

Richard was precious child lovingly doted on by both of his parents. He was the perfect blend of the two of them with his mother's gray eyes and his father's dark curls and light brown skin. When she held her baby boy in her arms she remember think about how beautiful was. He was a beautiful boy and she loved him so much. When he was born she promised herself that she'd never let any harm come to her beautiful boy.
It hadn't worked out that way.
She was now sitting in a hospital bed the scars still there as she laid there waiting for death that was sure to come anytime now. She wasn't scared she wanted it to come for her anything was better than remembering the last moments before the crash. Kyle had been driving and Andrew was asleep in the backseat of their car. She'd been looking back at him and smiling at how serene and content she looked.

That's when the crash happened. It happened so fast that Julia hadn't had a chance to react. The last thing she remembered was a loud screech, the sensation of pain, and the sound of her own screams.
When she asked about her husband and son, she knew the answer.
"I'm sorry." Were the words that the doctor had said to her avoiding her eyes. Julia didn't say anything else focusing on a spot on the wall. She wanted nothing more that disappear forever. She wanted to be happy, but it did not look like anyone planned on giving her that.

"I wish I was somewhere else, I wish I could start over again." She cried not caring that everyone in the room eyes were full of pity. Julia did not want it. She wanted to be gone for good. Slowly the tears stop rolling down her cheeks and she leans back her eyes focusing on the sun in her window. It was coming now. What she was waiting for- the end.

She leaves this world quietly as the sound of the machines that held her cling to life drown.

She is gone.

Julia Evans is no more.

This is the story of Julia Evans and this is how it ends.

And so begins the story of Lady Julia Tudors, the King's ward.

I sincerely want to apologize about how long this has taken, but I was dealing with some things, college apps and etc, so I could not find time to work on this. In other news I finally watched the White Queen and I admit I did cry at the end. I hope you all like what I will be doing to this story because I have worked very hard on timelines and reading up on characters. I did a lot more research than before, so hopefully that helps a lot. Anyways I'll talk to you all later. Bye.
