Okay so I'm ony a Brave fix/high or whichever term you prefer. This means that I'm in a new fandom and border line obessive, and when this happens all I'm thinking of is Brave. Okay now that this is out of the way. I don't own brave and to be honest I only own the commentary to this story-
They had spent the day together walking through the highland games booths. Merida was giggling at a joke young MacGuffin (Ian) had told her. She had spent a couple days with each boy from each clan. Actually she had spent the last month with all 3 of them, even though she knew wee Dingwall didn't want to be there. Something in her, however, kept coming back to the young MacGuffin man next to her. She thought about each suitor and saw a reason.
Young Macintosh showed off a bit to much for her liking. He was an alright man, they did agree on many ideas. Maybe it was the attention part of him she didn't really like. No matter how many time she looked away, he wanted all of her attention on him. Never the less she did like him.
Wee Dingwall was paying attention more to what was going on. Now that his secret was out, that he didn't want to be here, he could see clearly better. He didn't want to marry Merida after all. He was having fun seeing everything. Something about him made Merida think of him like a fourth brother, she did enjoy his company.
Ian, was a different story though, he would actually hold her hand. Neither of the other suitors even tried that and she actually liked it. They walked down to where queen Elinor was standing watching them get along. A couple of the maids were gossiping and looking at them watching curious. Ian and Merida however were aware since they were red in the face but continued there conversation.
"You see a lot of the words are the same like her, she, and so forth," he explained as they walked, still holding hands.
Elinor watched them with a smile on her face. She knew Merida would like one of her suitors. If she had to guess it would be young MacGuffin, or maybe even young Macintosh. Wee Dingwall really was right to admit that he didn't want to be there.
As for Ian she knew that he would be a good choice. He was a little shy, but he could easily over come that. Finally Ian escorted Merida to the stage. They were talking still as they held hands. Elinor heard him say something in Doric to her, which Merida seemed to understand. She was blushing at those words.
Ian bowed to the both of them and walked off as he saw Fergus. Merida and Elinor watched him leave, a small smiled danced its way to Merida's face. Elinor bite back a grin of her own. She knew it!
As for young MacGuffin he was watching Fergus show off and both women watched them. Merida giggled her hair going everywhere.
"I actually kind of like him," said Merida as Elinors eyes watched Ian.
"So you admit it," said Elinor holding her hands up in defensive mode. ''I'm not accusing you, I'm just curious." With these words Elinor sat on her wooden throne looking at Merida who turned to face her.
Merida's gaze turned to her father and Ian away from her mother. Fergus was showing off his muscles and Ian looked impressed. Fergus leaned in starting to tell yet another story.
Now Merida's face was slightly pink and looked at the floor. It was true that she liked Ian over young Macintosh or wee Dingwall. She could possibly marry Ian, like 2 years from now. Merida wasn't going to rush into things, she was however smiling.
"You know your father and I will support you no matter who you choose," said Elinor. Merida looked up and shared a knowing smiled with her mother. Both of them looked up and over at Fergus with Ian. They were getting along just fine.
