Everything is changing…
Don't own the S.H.I.E.L.D. or the characters of Marvel Comics, but happy to play in their backyard.
"The secret is out…"
-Skye, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
You Have Exactly Ten Minutes
Skye was just staring at the console. 'How did this happen? He was blue. They almost died. The Centipede is real. Wonder what he meant that they are not a team. Strangest show on Earth. Yeah, I bet with the T1000.' She looked out a the countryside. They were moving pretty fast.
She looked over at Coulson. He had his happy face on. 'He knows. Of course, he knows. He always knows.' She wanted in but she didn't want to be trapped. She had been trapped in a bad situation before. She wasn't going to let that happened again. Last time she had to wipe her existence off the grid. She could do it again, but she knew each time she did there would be other traces left behind. There was only one way to handle this.
She set herself in the seat and braced, "Okay. But I want to know."
Phil smiled as he turned sharply. "Sorry, that turn was a little quick. Couldn't help myself." He patted the steering wheel. "She really does handle nicely. Can't avoid taking her out. Helps."
"Well?"
"Don't trust us? Ask what ever you like?"
Certainly surprised at this turn. She had expected hi to close up and the deal to be off. This was different. What should she ask, had to be something fast. She looked a t the console again, "So start with the car."
He smiled it worked, "Oh, that simple. You already know Mr. Stark works with us. Think you mentioned going to Stark towers or some such place. What you may not know is Mr. Stark began working with us long ago."
She was puzzled and interested, "Tony?"
"Well no, Mr. Howard Star." He glanced over to see her reaction. She was a little surprised. "It was one of his cars. Like the current Mr. Stark, he liked to tinker, a mechanic after all. He was working with several types of reversion technology and used this car in one of the attempts. Since then he equipped it with the early versions of the Quintjet engines." He banked left and right and swerved around another sharp corner.
She shook her head at the twists and turns. Then thought, "So what about the team?"
Phil smiled again. She was in. If she asked about the team then she was wanting to know how she would fit in. This was going to work.
