It was gone, all of it. Every single building in Ponyville was gone. Screams of pain from the surviving ponies could be heard from miles away, except for one…Applejack. She had always been a tough one. She would not cry, never, even in the face of death itself . She knew that only minutes were left, just like everypony else. And like everypony else, final words needed to be said, confessions needed to be made, and heartaches needed to be formed.

"Applejack!" Rainbow Dash cried, flying full speed to her. "R-Rainbow…what're you doin' here? I thought you were gone…" Applejack said in a whisper, lying on the blood-covered ground. "I thought I'd lost you too, Applejack." Rainbow Dash responded, tears forming in her eyes. Applejack noticed this soon after. "Don't be gettin' all teary on me now, sugarcube…ah still got some time left, just not enough…" Rainbow Dash wiped away the tears, but was crying her eyes out on the inside.

"Applejack…I thought you'd live forever…why does it have to end like this…?" Applejack opened her mouth to speak, but winced in pain. As always, she managed to force it out. "Ah can't say myself, suga-erm…Rainbow Dash. Honestly, ah thought I'd die in some rodeo incident. But I've been proven wrong once again." Applejack lifted a hoof to take off her hat. "Give this to Applebloom, I'm sure she'd want it…" Rainbow Dash took the hat, setting it aside. She immediately returned her attention to Applejack.

"Rainbow…could ya do me one last favor…?" Applejack asked. "What is it?" Rainbow Dash replied. "Smile…one last time…ah wanna be able to see you smilin' as I go…" Rainbow Dash nodded, and tried her best to force a smile. "I…I cant, Applejack. I can't smile knowing I will never see you again." Rainbow Dash couldn't help it, and let the tears flow from her eyes. "Sugar…Sugar calm down, Rainbow…please. Don't cry…" Applejack's voice was getting weaker and weaker. "…Please…" She managed to say, and closed her eyes.

"Wait, Applejack…don't go just yet." Rainbow dash said, holding back the tears once more. Applejack opened her eyes for what was probably the last time. "Yeah, sugarcube?" Rainbow Dash began talking. "I'm sure it's obvious at this point, but…I love you, so, so much…don't forget that. When you're in places beyond Equestria don't forget that. When you are able to look down upon the world, don't you ever forget those three words. I don't really care what you think of me, just do NOT forget…please."

"Ah won't, and about what I think of you…well…aw, c'mere!" Applejack pulled Rainbow Dash as close as possible, and kissed her as lovingly as a princess and her prince. As they broke apart, Applejack was the first to speak up. "There…my life is complete." She smiled. "I'm sorry, Rainbow Dash…but we both knew this moment would come…goodbye…and someday, when I'm lookin' down here, I wanna see you flyin' with the Wonderbolts, living the dream."Applejack spoke her final words, and closed her eyes, this time permanently. "Goodbye, Applejack…" Rainbow Dash spoke, almost silently.

Dear Princess Celestia.

You probably didn't expect to hear from me, but I've learned a lesson from this experience: That death isn't always a bad thing, and is sometimes an opportunity to say things that you simply couldn't before. Sometimes, you just need to accept that nopony lives forever, no matter how much you want them to. Also, I need to ask a favor: Please give Applejack a proper funeral in Canterlot.

Wait, I take that back. I'm going to bury her on Sweet Apple Acres, she would've wanted that.

Goodbye.
