A/N: Written for the WIXOSS Flash Bingo, #148 – Midoriko.
Easy Wish
She felt lucky, and sad. The wish of her Selector was such a simple one, so easy to weave into her own. She'd barely have to try, and she'd have it: her body, a way to make her own wish come true and the only caveat that could stop it would be this tiny thing, her Selector's wish – that was so easy to fulfil.
Sad was the fact that it had already been fulfilled. And Hitoe knew it. She knew it as well but she was an LRIG. This was her fate. Her only chance.
But as the time for closure came near, she realised it wasn't such a simple wish after all. Hitoe had friends now. To keep them was different than making new ones, and Ruko and Yuzuki knew the both of them – they would know –
That frightened her, the thought that they might learn to hate her. And that wish of Hitoe's would break and the promise Midoriko had taken upon herself to fulfil wouldn't be so easy anymore. It would be impossible.
She shook and laughed. Her selector had chosen a good wish after all. Impossible to grant if she won the battles, easy to lose if she lost them.
'Throw me away,' she cried desperately, in a moment of weakness. In a moment of truth.
But Hitoe tenderly kissed her card. 'Your my friend too.'
And Midoriko cried. And she cried again when Hitoe lost her third Selector battle.
She'd been lucky, but she'd lost that.
