A/N: Written for the Diversity Writing Challenge, a15 – echo verse.

This is a part of an AU verse – which you should be able to guess, if I tell you normal text is Murakami and the echo (the italics parts) is Kuroneko. If not…it might take a few rereads. It took me about five reads to get the one I first read (aka. The echoes are more than just echoing the last word/syllable – they're deeper than they first looked!). Also, an echo verse is traditionally titled after its last line/word – which is a tad unfortunate in this case considering it's a single letter. But it does have the circular touch to it.

I

Are you an angel from the sky?
-I?
Do those wings of yours fly?
-My?
Can you speak? Can you say your name?
-Name?
Do you know where you are?
-are…
Yes, you're almost there. Go on!
-gone…
Gone? Someone's gone? Please –
-ease…
…did someone..?
-one.
…die?
-I.
