Author Notes: SPOILER! A drabble on the thoughts of Derek's date with the infamous Rose. A somewhat happy Mer/Der ending though.
He has sad eyes. Where the first thing she noticed about him. Okay so that wasn't the first thing she'd notice about him. Because he was a very sexy man, and she was certain that he knew that. But he did have sad eyes, and she wanted to heal whatever was broken.
He wouldn't be able to fall in love with her. Oh he'd go though the motions and pretend. But she could fall so easily in love with him, and that she knew would be a very big mistake.
"Go to her Derek." She said after their date. They were waiting for the cars to pull up on the curb, "She's the only woman for you."
"I'm sorry Rose." Derek said with a sigh, "You're a nice woman and if this was any other time then…" She cut him off when her car appeared.
"I just hope she knows how lucky she is." Rose said slipping into her car. She hoped the next time she saw he'd be happy. She had a feeling that a happy Derek would be a sight to behold.
