A/N: I was in a write-y mood and this song popped into my head. I wrote it with Rose and Scorpius in mind, but it could easily apply to any couple so read it as you please. I know it's not very 'Harry Potter' based, but as I wrote I was picturing R+S wandering through Diagon Alley and lying out on the balcony of Malfy Manor so...

It's my first songfic, so please let me know what you think of it :') On another note, I broke my s key.. so that's the reason for any possible missing s's. I love you all. ~MaryLouise1996

Disclaimer: Clearly, this is based on the song Forever and Always by Taylor Swift, so thanks to her for her beautiful lyrics. Since this is published to the Potter fandom and in my head it uses Potter characters and Wizarding places, I would like to grovel on the ground by Queen Rowling's feet and thank her for creating my life.

Forever and Always

Once upon a time, I believe it was a Tuesday

When I caught your eye

And we caught onto something, I hold on to the night

You looked me in the eye and told me you loved me.

It had been a whirlwind romance. Hot nights of passion and daytimes filled with sunshine and laughter. It sounds cliché but it was true, and thinking of him gave her butterflies and looking at him lifted her spirits and when they were together it was like nothing could ever go wrong.

Were you just kidding? 'Cause it seems to me

This thing is breaking down, we almost never speak

I don't feel welcome anymore.

Two months it lasted. Suddenly everything stopped. Sleeping under the stars, making cupcakes at 3am and dancing under the moonlight, it all went away. He stopped making an effort and she stopped always being the first to call.

Baby, what happened? Please tell me

'Cause one second it was perfect

Now you're halfway out the door.

It hadn't been her fault. She still wanted him, needed him, craved his company. Maybe he got scared, maybe he got bored. Maybe he just found something better to do. She didn't know and couldn't find out. One moment, he was just as perfect as he had ever been and the next, she hadn't heard from him in a week and hadn't seen him in even longer.

And I stare at the phone and he still hasn't called

And then you feel so low, you can't feel nothin' at all

And you flashback to when he said, forever and always

Oh, oh

Oh, and it rains in your bedroom, everything is wrong

It rains when you're here and it rains when you're gone

'Cause I was there when you said forever and always.

Forever and always, that's what he said. In those quiet moments when each was taken aback by the other, and desire and love and loneliness compacted to something uncontrollable, he looked her in the eyes and said those three little words that made her melt more than I love you. Love ended; there was evidence of that everywhere you looked. Forever and always though… That was eternal.

Was.

'Cause I was there when you said forever and always

You didn't mean it, baby, when you said forever and always.

You didn't mean it baby.
