Will You Come?
Once upon a time
a man built a home
It was like a
big, grand palace
Filled with all kinds of good things.
The man who built the house
Had no one to share it with
So he sent out an invitation
To all the ones he knew
To come share in his blessings.
The replies he received
were saddening to hear
Only two or three
Said yes
The rest were all rejections, refusals.
Wanting to spread his blessings
The man ran into the streets
Shouting his invitation at the top of his lungs
To all who happened to hear
He called in welcome and love.
Soon, the man's home was filled with guests
He came along to each of them
Seeing how they treated his gifts
Many accepted graciously and thankfully
But many others looked at them as if it were dust.
These squanderers he threw
Back to where they came
Into rot and ruin and misery
For they did not care that they'd been invited into plenty
And therefore did not deserve to live in this earthly wonderland.
There is one greater than he
Who built the whole world
and the eternal home He lives in
First He invited some
Then He invited all
Into His perfect kingdom.
Will you come?
