Caroline was staying at the Salvatore's house after Silas had attacked her mom. She didn't want her mom getting involved with something they had started. She was the only one who had decided to relocate. Elena had something about "not letting Silas ruin her life" or what not. Caroline hadn't feed in days and the hunger was getting strong. She told Stefan that she was going hunting and that she'd be back soon. She opened up the door and to her dismay, Klaus was standing in her way.

"Miss me love?" He smirked that annoying smirk. His voice laced with cokyness.

"No not really." Caroline huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she straightened her pose.

"Stefan and I are trying to find a way to kill Silas. Care to join us?" Klaus asked with raised eyebrows.

"Thanks but no thanks." She said and sauntered off past Klaus. She could feel his gaze burning a hole through her back. She reached the edge of the woods and heard the front door close. She glanced behind her at where he used to stand. With a silent scolding she flashed off into the woods to hunt for Thumper.

Klaus loved the way Caroline seemed to forget that he was the all powerful original hybrid. Anyone else would do well to remember who he was, but not her. Never her. He would never admit it, but it didn't even bother him. There playful banter was something that brightened his day. Her cocky attitude and demeaning jokes was his. She only ever acted that way towards her. Some may think it weird, but he liked that. He hadn't realized he was smiling.

"What's got you all happy-go-lucky?" Stephan looked at Klaus who actually had a genuine smile on his face. The smile instantly vanished.

"Nothing, mate. Find anything else about our dear friend Silas?" Klaus asked as he came to stand next to Stefan. A table covered with book and maps laid out in front of the vampires.

"I tried talking to Bonnie but she still hasn't come around yet." Stefan frowned as he stared into a grimoire.

"Ah. The Bennett witch. Yes, how is she taking the death of dear Jeremy?" Klaus asked not genuinely concerned. Stefan just shook his head.

"So where did the lovely Caroline runoff to?" Klaus asked as he glanced back at the door.

"She said she was going hunting." Stefan raised his eyebrow at Klaus. Stefan knew he had an interest in Caroline but he wasn't sure how much of an interest that was. Klaus nodded his head in approval and they started talking about Silas.

*With Caroline*

Caroline stopped running and listened. She was trying to find an animal to hunt. Stefan had told her that lately the animals in the forest had been scarce. He had lucked out the other day and caught a squirrel. She listened harder. Caroline could hear the lapping sound of a waterfall and the beating of a bird's wing as it flew by her. Caroline had never realized how beautiful nature really was. She then noticed the sound of someone breathing heavily. She flashed over to the source of the sound. A bulky figure lay in the middle of the woods. His hands wrapped around his stomach. Caroline's eyes widened when she saw his face. It was Tyler. His eyes had locked with hers. His eyes dyed in black with the golden circle. His fangs elongated.

"Tyler, what's wrong?" Caroline asked as she took a step towards him Tyler. Tyler had left Mystic Falls because of Klaus. Why was he back?

"Closer." Tyler choked out. He was dying. He had no idea why, but he was. He hadn't realized that it was Caroline, his love, standing before him. He was hungry. Hungry for anything he could sink his fangs into.

Caroline slowly moved towards Tyler. When she was in front of him she kneeled down. Her knees soaking through with dirt and damp ground. She reached out and smoothed his hair back. Tyler reached a shaking hand out and grabbed her wrist. In one quick motion, he pinned her down and sunk his fangs deep into the side of her stomach. Caroline gasped and pushed him hard, he didn't budge. Tears streamed down her face. His venom was pulsing through her body, already weakening her. She knew what she had to do. Caroline reached her hand up, painfully slow and ripped his heart out of his chest. She dropped his heart and it landed with a 'thud' next to her. She shoved his dead weight off of her and he rolled over. His body grey with death. Caroline looked down at her stomach. The shirt she wore was now torn and a gaping wound seared into her stomach. She could feel the venom. It had never happened this fast before. Caroline had been bitten twice so she knew. But the process was happening way too fast. She flashed back to the Salvatore's house and stumbled up the short steps before she collapsed in front of the door.

*Klaus and Stefan*

Klaus and Stefan were deep in conversation when they heard a 'thud' outside the door. The smell of blood was strong. Klaus's face drained of blood when he smelled Caroline's distinctive scent overlapping the blood. They quickly walked to the door. The two glanced at each other, knowing glances filling the void. With a quick tug, Stefan opened the door. There lay a pale Caroline, barely conscious, in a pooling puddle of her own blood. Klaus was horrified. Just an hour ago he had seen his angel so full of life and light and now she looked to be knocking n deaths door. Stefan couldn't believe what he was seeing. He knelt down and rolled Caroline over. She had a large wound on her side; it looked like a werewolf bite. Klaus clenched his fists. Whoever bit her was going to pay. She moaned and her head rolled from side to side. Klaus knelt down next to her.

"Sweetheart, what happened?" Klaus asked in a careful tone.

Caroline could vaguely see her surroundings. She had barely heard his words. He asked her what happened. Tears formed in her eyes as she remembered ripping Tyler's heat out. She remembered the slow beat of his heart as she plunged her hand into his chest. The warmth of his chest cavity. Before she ripped out his heart. The organ had beat twice after being removed. Caroline had just killed someone. Her world dimmed and she knew she had lost consciousness.

Stefan and Klaus exchanged glances. If was a silent understanding that Klaus would take her. Klaus carefully swept her up. His arms sloshed through the blood and it stuck to him like glue. Normally her blood smelled like honey to him. Like pure sweetness. But this blood coming from her, smelled like death. He pulled a face and flashed up stairs. Klaus did the decent thing and laid her in bed. Not changing her clothes. She was out cold and he had no way of getting his blood into her. He would have to wait until she woke up.

Stefan threw the fourth bucket of water onto the concrete landing. The fourth bucket did the trick in washing Caroline's blood away. He sighed and his eyebrows knitted together. The stench of death was heavy in the woods. He put the bucket down carefully, his eyes never leaving the woods. Stefan glanced back at the house. He looked back at the woods and flashed off. A minute or two and he found the source of the stench. Tylers body laid on the ground. His heart a foot from his body. His eyes were wide, his skin a grey/green hue. The smell repulsed Stefan and he had to cover his nose. His brows pulled together. The ground all around Tyler's body had rotted. The grass was petrified. A small purple flower, wilted and lay on its side. A festering hole consumed all of his abdomen. A smaller hole where his heart should have been. Stefan dry heaved and flashed away from the body. At least he knew what had happened. Just not what was happening to Tyler's body.

*With Silas*

He paced in a straight line. A few candles spread out through the dark cave. His moving shadow cast upon the cave wall. His face was a mask of anger. He scratched at his arm and the sickening clumping at his nails repulsed him. His body was decaying. He didn't know why. He didn't particularly care. He just had to wait long enough for the blonde to transition and find him. If is potion worked well enough, that werewolf should have bitten her and she should be almost dead. A sadistic chuckle dripped from his lips. The lives of the people in this town were so strangely intertwined. If the blonde did somehow get better, he would move onto the black haired vampire. He would keep trying until one of them pushed her to the brink of death.

So that she would become... Lost With Death.
