Say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe. Red lips and rosy cheeks, say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreams.
'Nick?' Michelle asks as he makes his way out of the hospital room. Tears stream down his cheeks as he shakes his head at the brunette.
'Oh god...' She says, her hand covering her mouth as Nick let's out a sob. She watches as his legs give way beneath him and he slides down the wall until he's sitting in a heap on the floor. His arms wrapped around his knees clutching a diamond engagement ring as he continues to shake his head.
'She was pregnant...' He whispers glancing up at her.
'I've lost them both.' He adds.
'Oh, Nick... I'm so sorry.' She says bending down beside him. Wrapping her arms around his shoulders she pulls him against her chest and just lets him cry. Tears for his fiancée, tears for his baby, tears for the things he loved the most.
'Michelle?' A voice asks as she looks up to see Aiden and Kate making their way towards him.
'No... No...' Kate says tears filling her eyes as Michelle shakes her head at them both.
'She's gone.' Nick whispers.
'You can all stay at ours tonight.' Michelle says as they get out the taxi outside of the Rovers.
'I can't go in there. I can't tell everyone... I can't do this Michelle.' Nick mumbles as he stares at the door, tears streaming down his cheeks.
'I can tell them if you want? You can go right through the back, all of you can.' Michelle says placing her hand on his shoulder.
'What am I supposed to do now? What do I have to live for?' He asks and Kate grabs hold of her hand, biting her bottom lip to stop the tears that are threatening to fall.
'Come on... We'll go right through.' She says and he nods his head. They make their way into the pub, Nick and Kate go straight through to the backroom while Michelle and Aiden stop behind the bar. Michelle rings the bell and gets the attention of the majority of the customers.
'Can I have some quiet please?' She asks as the regulars stop and glance up at her,
'I'm afraid we've got some very sad news for you all. I've just got back from the hospital and I'm devastated to even have to say this but my best friend...' She begins as tears stream down her cheeks. She glances up at Aiden who instantly grabs hold of her hand.
'Carla passed away a couple of hours ago. The injuries from the attack were just too severe for her body to handle. I'm sure you will all understand just how heartbroken we are.' Aiden says as the entire pub gasps.
'I'm so sorry, sweetheart.' Liz whispers instantly pulling Michelle into her arms.
'Chelle, I'm going to see Kate and Nick.' Aiden says placing his hand on his cousin's shoulder.
'Okay. I'll come through in a minute.' She replies quietly.
'What're you doing up?' Michelle asks as she finds Nick sitting at the bottom of the stairs.
'Couldn't sleep.' He admits and she sighs.
'Me neither... Do you want to talk?' She asks.
'I just can't believe she's gone... How am I supposed to live without her?' He asks and she wraps her arms around his shoulders.
'It's going to take time but you will get through this. We're all here for you and you can stay here as long as you need.' She replies.
'I loved her so much.' He whispers.
'And she loved you more than she's ever loved anyone.' She says.
