Summary: EO Drabble Challenge: Water: The trouble Dean was in only continued to rise higher with every intake of breath, every second that dared to pass by. With not much to do but wait and dread the inevitable, he could only hope Sam wasn't in the exact same position he was in.
A/N: No spoilers, no specific season. Wow, there's so much that I would love to do with this word and with so many ideas I'll just have to settle with doing two drabbles. Hope you like.
The water was colder than either had realized.
And it wasn't a cold that could be dealt with. Bitter and lingering it sank into their bones, froze their veins with no morsel of restraint. It was only February yet Dean chided himself for letting the now burnt to a crisp chimera get the better of him.
Sam was screaming something yet Dean's limbs refused to move, not even at the prospect of Sam in danger. His head wouldn't work properly either, turning to numb mush despite his panic.
All he could do was watch the liquid rise higher and higher…
