It seemed so impossible. Only five months before, group seven had been in ninja school. And now this. At first, they had just been given menial tasks, but after the Hokage had let them take a C grade task, there had been plenty of excitement.

But it was on one of these first journeyman tasks that Sakura had first been surprised. She had woken up in the middle of the night to find that Sasuke's sleeping bag was empty. Hoping to find him and have a moment of privacy (hehe) she had gone out searching for him in the tall bamboo forest. It wasn't long before a beautiful sound was floating around her. The song sounded of the hills and streams of Scotland, the temples and mountains of Japan, and the forests of the Earth. It was beyond beauty describable by words. It was only describable by heart.

A clearing opened up before Sakura in the woods, and there, framed by leaves, stars, and a full moon, was a young boy dressed all in black. The viola was alive in his hands as he sang silently to the darkness around him. As Sakura watched, Sasuke made the strings flow in harmony with life, a harmony that she had never thought existed. And a harmony totally different from his personality and life. His escape.

A song of dragons. A song of Shinobi.
