This was in answer to a challenge posted elfsheen website. I'm going for some pure A/E fluff this time

As he slid the flint down the metal chinks and knots of his sword; a sheen of moonlight flashed down the edge of the blade. He heard faintly a leaf crisp under a bare foot. Aragorn looked up and he saw the shivering shape of Eowyn standing alone in the starlight. Her hair was long and loose, with a soft cloak of crushed blue covering her shoulders. She pulled and pressed the collar closer to her neck.

"It is so late. Why are you here?" she said to him delicately.

His eyes flickered faintly over to her and then back down to the blade. "You should not be out here," he said shortly.

Their breath was clinging to the bitter air.

Her mouth dropped open as if to begin a protest but she managed to silence herself. Instead she chose to slip into the empty space close beside him. So close that he could feel the bare skin of her hands next to his own bare arms. He pointed his gaze at the blade of his sword but he could sense the touch of her eyes.

"My lord, have I done something to upset you?" she said.

"No."

"Then will you not come inside?"

Aragorn made no answer.

Eowyn rolled her eyes; "All I'm asking of you is to support my decision sometimes because if I say one thing and then you say another…we won't be raising children…we'll be raising a bunch of Orcs."

Aragorn swiped the stone again down the sword.

"Fine then. I shall have to sleep out here with you!" she said.

Suddenly he felt the weight and curve of her warm skull gently roll against his shoulder. At that moment only the wind made the effort to speak. Eowyn closed her eyes, her naked feet, bridling under stroke of the wind.

Aragorn placed his sword to the ground and moved to enclose the warm caress of his hand around her feet. Intoxicated by the sweet fragrance radiating from her, he felt compelled to kiss her.

She looked up from her sleepy eyes and smiled, "If I should catch a death from this cruel wind and your hands could not heal me…what would you do then?"

"Then I should curse myself for being an utter fool." He said heaving her up onto her feet. He looked into her eyes and tenderly removed a stray wisp of hair from her surprised face,

"What is this? All of a sudden the King has a change of heart?"

He took her by the hand and said gently, "My love are you complaining?"

She layered a hand over his, "Of course not, I just thought there might more behind your decision."

" Well if you must know, your brow was slightly ticking." He said as they took to the stony steps of their home.

"I wasn't angry with you…. well not yet anyway," she said pointing her gaze forward.

"Well see there my lady! In time your temper would come and so it is in my best interests to do as you say!"

Round and up the staircases they went reach to their chambers. Aragorn then prepared himself with a wash and a change into his nightclothes and joined Eowyn to sleep.

As he clambered in he said to her, "And know that I lie here with you against my own will for I do not wish to be a victim of your rage."

She laughed at him and then pulled the fur skins over his body. "Well then you better kiss me goodnight before I turn on you!"

"Oh this is torture!" he said leaning closer to cover her lips with his.

She closed her eyes as he pressed his mouth softly onto her skin. "Goodnight" she murmured as she nestled under his arm.

His breath whispered hotly into her ear, "You wouldn't mind torturing me again would you?"

She laughed, looking up towards him with a smile that reached far into her shining eyes and said, "Well what do you think?…"
