Somehow he had always known.
In the end, she chose the bloodsucker.
It no longer surprised him.
She broke him. Slowly, piece by piece.
There is nothing left of him now.

He wonders if she's happy. He hopes she is.
(His heart will shatter even more . . but he doesn't mind.
She's worth the pain.)
She's in every thought he has.
He shouldn't do it, he knows.
Thinking of her hurts and heals him.
She mends him when he's torn apart.
He dies again and again - and each time she brings him back to life.
Will she still be his Bella, even when she's a vampire?
Will she still be his air?
He'll always be her Jacob. She told him that the last time he saw her alive.
He'll always be her sun.

She's Bella.
Just not his Bella. His best friend. First love.

She's a shell of her former self. Her human self.
Bella is gone.
He can't look at her without feeling empty inside.
