He was gone.

George had seen him, lying on the ground, the usual gleam in his eyes replaced with a dull stare.

There had been a flash of light; a thunderous explosion.

And Fred's eyes stared without seeing, all thoughts forgotten; gone.

But George couldn't accept that. George couldn't allow half of him to be gone, to have himself be ripped in to two. He couldn't, and shouldn't, be able to stand with his family, happy and alive, when he knew Fred was dead.

But Fred was dead, and he had to realize that life had to go on.

But he couldn't.

A single tear dropped from George's eyes. He buried his head into the massive amount of pillows on his bed, and closed his eyes, with just the image of his lost twin in his mind.

Why was he allowed to survive? Why didn't Fred, the funnier, happy with life, twin be allowed to live instead of him?

His last words floated around George's head, his chuckle, pride and happiness as Percy decided to help his family. His joy and happiness warmed George. His determination and confidence in his brother was going to push George.

George lifted up his head and picked up a single photo; a picture of both Fred and George, smiling and waving, making strange faces, and just being themselves. He traced his finger along the picture of Fred, who scowled in return. He stared for awhile, and slowly began to smile.

Fred wouldn't have wanted George to be like this. Fred would not have let George mope around. And George now realized that with his twin gone, he would have to work twice as hard to make their names a legend.

George set the photo down, smiled at the picture of Fred, and got out of bed to plan their business and the pranks that would follow.

He will live on. For Fred, who will also forever live on in all of the family and friends' heart.

It wasn't going to be easy. After all, who could forget someone so closely bounded to one's heart? But with some determination, confidence, and a giant heaping of love, maybe, just maybe, he'll be able to push through. And with the part of Fred still living on inside of him, with the knowledge that Fred would never leave him and would always be a part of him, he could just be happy.
