When All Is Said And Done
Sinead tried to make it go away. But this test wasn't an etchasketch. It meant her life was over. The little blue line stayed in the test. This was third one. Hamilton had gone home the week before. They kept in touch by letters and emil. But this she would have to confess in person. She'd have to tell him,face to face, that she was having his baby. She picked up her cell phone and speed dialed him.
"Hammy?It's an emergency. You need to get down here, right now. No I don't care if Buffalo's playing Boston. Get down here." She asserted. He said he'd come down. The ensuing hours were filled with her taking more tests, laying around and lots of tears. Then she heard his rusted out truck pull into the driveway. She sat up, wiped her eyes and ran out to meet him.
"You've been crying. Why?" He asked.
"Come inside. I have to tell you something." She pulled him by the hand. She touched his face, and sobbed."I'm pregnant" She choked. She could feel his eyes searching for something. Then he touched her chin and brought her face to meet his.
"That's ok. We can work this out. You can come live with me"
"And have to deal with your father and your sisters?"
"ok. Well I'll move in with you. This might be Amy & Dan's guest house, but I doubt they'll mind."
"How will you tell your dad you knocked up an ekat?"
"That's the thing. I won't. I'll just tell him I'm moving out. " Sinead smiled. He slipped something on her finger.
"What's this?" She asked.
"Well until I can get a job and buy an engagement ring, You'll just have to wear my football ring."
"Are you asking me to marry you?" Sinead was flabberghasted.
"No. I'm asking you to walk down an aisle, say I do and spend the rest of your life with me, raise a family. I'm not just asking you to marry me. I'm asking you to say forever." Sinead was in tears. Tears of joy.(Now would be a good time for the audience to go"Awwwww")
"Yes. Hamilton , I will. Forever. Forever and ever."
"Amen!" He said. They shared a kiss. Then got down to business.
-15 minutes later-
"We missed the bed"Sinead laughed, as they lay under the rug. He smiled.
