The Hot Spring Murder Mystery
The metallic stench of blood blended in with the salty scent of the water. Droplets of water rained heavily from the dark blue sky. I stood outside in nothing but a thin strapped tank top and shorts, getting drenched in water. My eyes widened as tears formed in them and trickled down my cheeks. I came face to face with my worst nightmare; a corpse of a close friend. His body floated on top of the water, his face and stomach up. He had a stab wound in his stomach, heart and a slash mark on his neck. His left hand held onto a blood stained knife. The blood from his wound mixed into the bath water. I walked over to his body and pulled him out of the water. I grabbed his right wrist and checked for a pulse. Then felt his neck for the same thing just to make sure. I couldn't find any. He was dead. I looked up at everyone else and shook my head from side to side. I covered up his body with a blanket I found. One of my friends Jenny tried calling the police, but they said they couldn't get to our destination in the bad weather. We had to wait, until tomorrow for them to arrive, but I couldn't hold out until that long. I had to find the culprit that murdered my boyfriend and bring him down. I uncovered his body as I sat down on the concrete and crossed my legs. I pondered and thought, while I stared at Jake's corpse. Everyone else walked inside and sat in the main room.
"He must've committed suicide. See? He's holding the weapon in his left hand." My other friend Jessica said.
Her comment made me realize something. Jake wasn't left handed. He was right handed. So, why would someone who was right handed, kill himself with his less dominant hand? The wounds on his body, like the stomach and the heart, are all on the right side. This wasn't a suicide, it was murder and whoever is the culprit, the one thing we know is that he is left handed. I looked over at my group of friends through the glass window door. The only ones I knew were left handed were Josh, Brian and Jasmine. What motive did the culprit have of killing Jake? Is there a secret life of Jake we don't know about? The only way I could find out is by asking my three main suspects. I got up off the ground and walked inside and over to Josh; my ex-boyfriend.
