The forest around her sings with life in the mid-day sun, she loves this, the nearly virgin woods the most about her home. Even though it's only May, she's already hot and as she takes of her sweatshirt she hears a familiar voice behind her, "Dude, so this is where you've been hiding."

She turns around and smiles at her father, "Yeah, Dude." They hug and she kisses him lightly on the cheek, "Where else would I be?" It's been awhile since they've seen each other, her father was a busy man and even though there have been a few things that happened that drove her into the country's spot light, she's been trying to leave them behind her. "What brings you here? Besides the chocolate."

He wraps his arm around her and looks down at the small valley, "Hmm, Chocolate does sound good, but really I came to see you."

Her caramel eyebrow rises, "Oh is that so?" for a moment a slight German accent peaks out making him laugh. She shakes her head and starts walking down a well beaten path to the valley below.

He follows behind her looking at her colorful hex sign tattoo etched in between her shoulder blades. He frowns as he spots a long scar just below it. She turns just in time to see the worry and sadness in her father's eyes, "Dad?"

She stops and turns to meet her father, "What is it?" Both their eyes land on another long scar on her left shoulder, "It's ok, it doesn't hurt." She grasps her shoulder thinking back to that day when the plane crashed into one of her fields. "They remind me not only of the tragedies but the triumphs of my state. Dad, they died Heroes." She lifts the bottom of her shirt to reveal another, "They fought for freedom for their fellow man." She turns her wrist over to reveal a small grouping, "And this…they lost their lives for no reason and yet instead of spreading hatred and anger, their families forgave."

America touches the small markings, "I just wish you didn't have to bear scars alone." He knows ever cut, scrape and black eye every one of his children have ever had.

She smiles and takes his hand, "I don't, you've always been right there beside me."

They hug for a moment before her father's stomach rumbles, "Oh, Dude I am hungry, why don't we get some burgers?" She follows him down the trail shaking her head, although the other countries only see the loud 'hero' side of him. She knows his other side a loving father who only ever wants the best for his children and his people. And she wouldn't have it any other way.
