I'm taking a slight break from a long story coming up to give you this short piece :]


Just Wanted to Say



"Hey. Can you talk?"

"And speak, whisper, mumble, yell, screech, scream, yodel..."

"Your simplicity is becoming, fair maiden."

"Isn't it just?"

"Charm, wit, beauty...what more could any fellow wish to ask for?"

"Intelligence."

"Ah, yes. But I could live without."

"Mmm. Drop the act and just tell me already."

"Tell you what? I beseech you to explain yourself."

"You DID call me, didn't you?"

"Elementary, my dear--"

"Call me Watson and face my wrath."

"Lady? Pal? Highness?"

"Your Majesty is best."

"Your Majesty, my Majesty, our Majesties..."

"You know, I could be doing better things right now..."

"Better things than listening to me talk?"

"Poetry, for example. Lots of anguished poetry. Death maybe."

"Just not your death and I'll be happy."

"Death to this phone call if you don't tell me now."

"Okay, okay. Just wanted to say..."

"Yeah?"

"I love you, Val."

The blonde cracked a smile on the other end of the phone. "Tyler, you always know how to get straight to the point."
