I kept running to afraid to look back. I could hear them gaining on me, every second brought them closer. The fear would be paralyzing if I didn't think my life depended on fleeing. My legs kept pushing me forward.
I could feel it breathing down my neck, closer and closer. I was pushed down hard on the ground knocking the air out of my lungs. Before I could catch my breath something clamped down on my leg piercing the skin. I let out a scream and tried to swat away whatever it was holding on to my leg before I could reach I was airborne flying into a tree. I saw the animals that had been chasing me, giant wolves. One of them howled and the rest followed. I screamed out and tried to crawl away from my pursuitors. One of them pressed its paw down on my wound keeping me in place.
"Leave her be!" A strong voice boomed over the sounds from the wolves.
"She was hunting on our land!"
"If you leave her be we will teach her our way of living, she won't be back on your grounds" as they were talking I tried to move away from the wolf above me. It growled and went in to position to attack. One of the vampires growled back at it moving closer. He was blonde and covered in scars he should have intimidated me but he only made me feel safe.
"Step away from her' he growled moving forward even more 'Now!"
The wolf slowly backed away from me his chest rumbling with restrained disdain. The blonde swooped down on me taking my face in his hands looking me deep in the eyes. I felt as if I finally reached home, all was right in the world.
He started ripping my old torn jeans from my injured leg sweeping over my injuries with soft rugged hands. Shocking me when he licked my wound clean, he did it with such tender care I was gob smacked.
"Jasper' he growled at a short pixie looking girl 'You should take her to the house, clean her up" she didn't seem the least bit disturbed by my saviors growling.
Jasper slowly retracted himself from me, his eyes searching my own. I tried communicating my absolute trust in him without saying a word. He gave me a small smile and proceded with carefully sliding his arms under my knees and around my back and swept me up in his arms with ease. I can't have been that light not to affect him in the least. He gave me a smile and of we were running through the forest to where ever home was.
I could hear water flowing in a river, birds chirping growing quiet as we neared them and green moss growing on the trees we passed. In the distance I could see a house emerging through the trees. The whole front was made of glass and the light was shining reflecting the light in the glass, it should have blinded me but it didn't.
He swiftly opened the door without dropping me setting me down on a white couch facing the window. He disappeared from the room and appeared again a second later with water and towel in hand.
"I'll make you as good as new little darling" he set to work cleaning my wound. I actually preferred when he licked it clean, why was that more right in my mind then this? Jasper finished cleaning my wound and looked into my eyes.
"What's your name darlin'?"
"Isabella Swan" my head reared to the left seeing another blonde man, how did he know who I am?
