Fred the Cat the EPILOUGE!
Just what happened when the trio got home?
It was Saturday. Fred and Sam were going to Joe's house for the night. Sam was there, and Joe's neighbor Sylvia was there making pizza.
Fred came in.
Joe and Sam looked at him anxiously.
"What?"
Joe and Sam continued to breathe. (Apparently they held their breath a lot.)
Joe's mom was setting the table. Sylvia put the pizza in the oven and got out the ingrediants for chocolate-chip cookies while Anna cut up an apple.
Fred's mom came in.
"Hello!" Joe's mom greeted the tired looking lady. "Is something wrong?"
"Well, can I talk to you for a minute?" Joe's mom led her into the living room.
"Hey, Fred, we're gonna go spy on your mom." Joe said, smiling. "You coming?"
"Nah. I'll go find something to do." Fred turned and headed up the stairs.
Joe and Sam crouched near the doorway.
"Well, I'm worried about Fred." Fred's mom said. "He's been acting strangely."
"What's been happening?"
"He's been reading these books about cats. Warriors, I think they're called. He draws pictures of this cat named Brindleface. And he says he doesn't know why."
"Could Brindleface be the tabby?" Sam whispered. "The one that kept licking him?"
"And he suddenly has the obsession with warm milk. It has to be warm, and it's the only thing he'll drink. He didn't drink a lot of milk at all. And know he won't drink anything else, and it has to be warm. And he doesn't have an explaination for that, either."
Sam and Joe exchanged a glance. Then the hurried up the stairs.
In Joe's bedroom they laughed until they had tears in their eyes. (In fronto of a very confused Fred.)
