He was thinking about her. She was thinking about him. She was in London, and he was touring with his band in Rome. She was lying in bed, at her university dorm room. He was sitting on a stool, in a bar, with a beer on his hand. Both had long, tired, glowless faces. Both were sorry, both too proud to say it. It hadn't been anybody's fault; they'd just had a row over something really stupid, which ended up turning into a fight. They'd never fought this bad before. A tear formed in her left eye. He let out a sigh, miles away from her. He hoped she would still be there when he got back the following day, because even if he hadn't said it before, he'd fallen hard for her. She was wishing he wouldn't leave her; because she loved him, since the very first day she had loved him. He was wearing the shirt she'd given him for his birthday. She was lying in bed in his boxers, in his red long t-shirt. Both pieces of clothing kept each other's scent; it was as if being closer to each other. "Mate, you ok?" one of his friends asked him as he patted him softly on the back. "Dunno," he shrugged. His friend curled his eyebrows and suggested something instead "you should give her a call," he turned round and replied "I'll just talk to her tomorrow when we get back home," They left the bar and went back to their hotel. She woke up, feeling awful. She went into the bathroom and threw up. As she saw her reflection on the mirror she realized something wasn't right. She got dressed quickly and left for the nearest drugstore, just around the corner from her dorm's building. She bought it and sighed. He jumped off the plane to get back, thinking about what would he tell her. He got home, left everything there and drove over to her university. He knocked twice and cleared his throat as he always did. She smiled, opened the door and hugged him. He put his arms around her, hugging her back tightly. Their hearts beat faster at every touch, at every smile, at every look. She remembered again, about throwing up, about going to the pharmacy. He opened his mouth and started off, trying to apologize, but she put a finger over his lips and shushed him. She took him by the hand and led him to the bathroom. He saw it. Both were at a loss for words. She looked at him, wondering how he would react. He smiled, showing his wonderful smile, his whitened teeth. He twirled his fingers into hers, reassuringly. "I wouldn't want that with anybody else than you," he placed his hands on her cheeks and kissed her lips firmly. They both smiled. She felt safe, so did he. They were scared, but together. They were expecting a baby girl, but they wouldn't find that detail out until four months later. They were young, only 22. They were in love.
