Rambling. All of this was about rambling. Odd, and boring.
She had spent more than a lifetime attending several conferences. But that one may well have been the more boring among them. She sighted, looking right at Will who has started snoring around half an hour ago. She would have done so if only she didn't have a reputation to hold. Helen Magnus sleeping? Honestly, who are you trying to fool?
So now, she was sleeping with open eyes. Thinking about all those better things she could do instead. Because, honestly? Mermaids? This guy not only didn't know what he was talking about, but he didn't know how to use a microphone either, and her best game at the moment was to try and figure out the missing words. Plus he had a terrible grammar and accent.
No, definitely not the best conference she had ever been to. Though she also regretted not bringing her camera along. Just for the priceless photos of Will, drooling over his shirt like a sleepy two years old. He actually looked pretty adorable.
Her mobile phone got off, and she picked it up before anyone else could hear where the ring was coming from. They all seemed to appreciate the distraction. She tried to speak the most silently she could manage. After a century and a half of living, she has had time to train. But apparently, Ashley hadn't. She got two words out of her screaming : Abnormal, New-interesting-case. She elbowed Will, several times, before his eyes open, and he assured her he hadn't been sleeping. She smiled, falsely acknowledging, and tried her best for them to get out of the room as unseen as possible. That was without the actual drool over Will shirt, and the boring intervention. Maybe would she at some point be telling him. Will, not the speaker. She had better manners than that. She had, didn't she?
