A/N: Please no hate. This is a hard time for the fandom. x
Charlie opened her eyes.
She knew she shouldn't be opening them, because she knew that Stine guy got her, and she knew felt the knife going into her middle, and well... slashing through whatever part of her body that had skin.
But she woke up, surrounded by Davy Jones Locker-esque plain white, almost endlessness around her.
"Woah," she muttered to herself, "This is just like in Harry Potter 7... am I like... the girl who lived?"
"Not exactly," a voice said behind her, and she whipped around, opening here mouth a little.
"...Cas?"
The angel stood, and looked down at his feet. "I'm so sorry... but you're not exactly living." Despite the situation, Charlie giggled. "Right. I kinda got that," she said, grabbing and staring, now rather sadly, at her bloodied clothes.
Cas sighed, and came closer to her. "I shouldn't be here... normally, I should be a reaper, come to you for the purpose of bringing your soul to your heaven. But when I heard the disturbance, I...I had to..."
The angel looked so apologetic, so Charlie put a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it. "Hey- Castiel? I knew what I was doing. I got into this four years ago, when those guys dragged me into the whole Dick thing... back then, I made a promise to myself I would stay away after I finished the hack. But I couldn't. Not when they needed me. I'm here because I want Dean to get rid of the mark, and I care about him and Sam..." She took a deep breath, "I care about my brothers. It's not their fault. I'm just sorry we didn't get to become BFFs."
Cas looked up. "You saved the book. You're a hero. And if it's any consolation, you did not die in vain, I assure you." Charlie still winced at the word die, especially since it was directly describing her, but nodded. "That's good to know... so... what is it? Do I get to speak to the boys through the force like Obi Wan, or is it Olympus?" She snorted.
Cas frowned. "Um..I will be taking your soul to heaven...?" Charlie laughed. "Darn. I was hoping I could get a little action with Aphrodite up on the cloud." Cas smiled, and he put a hand on her back, guiding her. From the angel's touch, the now dried blood on her clothes faded away.
She bit her lip. "Cas?" "Yes, Charlie?" "Is this goodbye? Like... forever?" Cas looked at her, and said softly, "Nothing is forever."
And the redheaded nerd felt the power of Cas' wings grow behind them, and there was a blinding white light.
