Olympus was quiet. Now the fact that Olympus, the home of the gods, was quiet wasn't strange. In fact, on numerous occasions Olympus was silent; be it for the annual Visitation Day for the year rounders of Camp Half Blood on the Winter Solstice or when Lady Rhea comes to see the Original Six. But this type of silence was not the peace and tranquility that is present on most days when the Olympians were absent. No, it was like the calm before the storm. In the throne room, you would find Athena, the goddess of Wisdom and Battle Strategy, discussing battle plans with Artemis and Apollo, the twin archers of Leto. It was one of the very few times that Apollo was serious. You would also find Ares, the god of War, teaming up with Hephaestus, the god of the Forge and Fire, to upgrade the weapons of the gods. Persephone, the goddess of Springtime, Demeter, the goddess of Agriculture and Harvest, Hera, the goddess of Marriage and Fertility and Aphrodite, the goddess of Love, would be seen complaining about the gloomy atmosphere hanging above Olympus like a cloud. Dionysus is not here; the god of Wine and Insanity is on punishment. Nor is Hermes, as he is the god of Messengers. Poseidon is fighting a war undersea, protecting his kingdom from the forces of Oceanus, the Titan of the Sea. And Zeus is nowhere to be found, which greatly irks each and every Olympian present, as he was the one who called in an 'Emergency Meeting'.

Suddenly there was a clap of thunder, and a massive bolt of Lightning strikes down on the largest and most ornate throne. The smell of ozone fills the air and the light dies down revealing Zeus in all his glory. The gods disassemble themselves from their own groups and sit on their thrones. "I call this meeting to order!" the King of the gods thundered. "Artemis, do you have word on Typhon? And someone go get Hermes!" Athena stands up and disappears into thin air, leaving behind the scent of olives and a simple feather. Artemis keeps quiet, knowing that her father would rather hear her answer when all available Olympians are present. Athena reappears with Hermes and Dionysus and then goes to sit down. Hermes and Dionysus follow her example. Artemis goes to reply but before she does, there is a flash of light. Zeus growls, irritated and is further angered when the light dies down. "Jackson," he spat, "you'd better have a good explanation as to why you and your friends are here." Percy Jackson looks around confused, and then hastily bows when he realizes where he is.

His friends, ten in total, copy his movements to avoid incineration. "Rise, heroes." calls a soft voice from the Hearth, filling them with warmth. They comply to Hestia's command and stand. "Well?" says Zeus impatiently. "L-Lord Zeus, with all due respect, didn't you call us?" questions Percy. "Now why would we do that?" replies Ares in a bored tone. Annabeth goes to answer, but is interrupted by a flash of light; this time it was godly. The demigods instinctively close their eyes. "What now?!" exclaims Hermes. An ocean breeze blows outward from the light and the scent of the Sea wafts through the air. The light disappears and Poseidon is standing where the source of the light was once before, with his three pronged Trident in hand. If his expression was anything to go by, he was annoyed. The demigods open their eyes and watch in fascination at how Poseidon quarrels with Zeus about summoning him in the middle of a war. Zeus denies his claim and then accuses his brother of trying to usurp his throne. Their fight is is interrupted when there was another flash of light. "Oh, come on!"
