This one-shot was inspired by the Veronicas' song 'Everything I'm Not'. I hope you enjoy!-JasZ

Klaus is many things. The villain in everyone's story. Everyone expects him to change over time. To control the darkness that makes him who he is.

When she reentered his life she expected him to change. To become a man she wants. That's what is tarring them apart. Her need to have him become someone he has no desire in becoming.

He's not noble like his older brother Elijah. Kind like the mutt that believes he can take what belongs to the original hybrid. He doesn't care for stupid petty things like love and kindness. Nor the promises that are always broken.

Those things were not displayed towards him. Why should he even try to coddle those who've hurt him? Only hatred, pain and false pretenses have been showered his way… Always used and abused.

That is why he inflicts pain upon others… he does it before they get a chance to inflict it on him. A away to get the upper hand perhaps. Even when crossed he'll make them pay tenfold.

That is why he did what he did. He killed his brother's girl and 'turned' Marcel against them. But he couldn't really hurt them. They are blood. They are family.

Hayley isn't… He allowed her into their family. Accepted her; as the mother of his daughter. Yet she used her womanly wails on Elijah. To have him stabilize him while she ran off with his child!

She tried to control him because of their daughter. Tried: to change him to have him stringing along like everyone else in the family… like her pack. Molding him into a puppet like her little pack. Clearly she's been poisoned by the mutt.

That is why he wanted the crescent curse placed on her… she wanted change. Wanted to take his daughter away from him! He gave her what she wanted. Changed… a punishment just for the Queen and her idealistic, pathetic followers.

He will continue on being the villain in everyone's story. He can't change that. Nor would he want to. He will be the villain to protect his daughter. He's not the hero to anyone. But to his daughter he will. Just not the way the fairy-tales portray them. That's everything he's not… being the villain is too much fun for him to give it up.

There you have it! I know it's been a long time but i wanted to give it another go.. I'm sorry for errors. i posted this in a rush... i have class in a few minutes. Hope you enjoyed!-JasZ
