Olivia was seating on the window seat of her apartment as she looked out at the city, she had just walked into the apartment building before it started to pour with massive thunder and lightning.
She was crestfallen, hurt, devastated and maybe a little angry that Elliot wasn't returning her calls, and now he just quit on her, without talking to her. She leaned her forehead on the cool glass of the window and closed her eyes tightly.
A knock on her door had her reopening her eyes and turning from the window. Slowing getting up from the window seat, Olivia walked over to her door and opened it. To her surprise it was Dominic Pruitt.
"Dominic?" She was shocked and surprised at the same time.
Master Stg Dominic Pruitt smiled a little. "Hi."
Olivia opened her door the way for him. "Come in." She stepped aside with the door and watched as he walked in past her.
"I heard about what happened to your partner." Dominic said almost hesitantly as he now stood in the middle of her apartment. "I'm sorry."
Olivia swallowed the lump in her throat as she nodded and walked over to her couch. "We've been partners for 12 years." Her voice came out in a whisper as she just plops down. "How can he do this?" She takes a couch pillow and hugs it tightly.
Dominic walks over to the couch and sits down next to her. "I don't know what to say to make you feel better."
Olivia looks at him. "You, being here is more then comforting."
"You still have Detective Fin, Detective Munch, and your boss." Dominic reminded her gently. "They haven't abandoned you."
Olivia could only nod.
Dominic gently put a hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "It'll be alright."
Olivia could only nod again, she was pulled from her thoughts when she saw him getting up and moving toward the door. "Where are you going?"
"You want to be left alone." Dominic answered. "So I'm seeing myself out."
"Don't leave." Olivia found herself saying. "Please."
Dominic looked at her. "I'm not leaving the country again. I'm just going to my hotel."
"My couch folds out into a bed." Olivia offered. "I don't think I can handle being alone tonight. And I could use the company."
Dominic takes one look at her, and agrees to stay. "Ok." He walks over to her. "Ok." He pulls her into his arms and that's when Olivia finally breaks down, clinging to him for dear life as her hands fists into his shirt, afraid to let him go.
"Don't leave me." She kept repeating in a strangled and chocked sob. "Please don't leave me."
"I won't." Dominic whispers gently as he gently rocks her back and forth. "I promise." He holds her tighter.
