Disclaimer: I do Don't own Harry Potter – If I did, Peeves would have been in the movies.
AN: This fanfiction was for my friend Thropes. You're lucky I didn't pair you with Myrtle.

Complicated Spirits
Peeves whizzed along the hall cackling, "Wee Little Firsties, Come out and play with your Lord Peevsie!" he called. Peeves loved teasing the first years, they were so easy. They would cry over the slightest things, he loved making them cry. But he always got into trouble for it; the professors knew his weakness, the Bloody Baron. He was scary, Awfully scary. Peeves winded a corner, when he heard the sound of sobbing, it wasn't a Firsties kind of sobbing, he liked that kind of sobbing. It wasn't a Myrtle sobbing either. It sounded delicate, soft. Like they didn't want anyone to know they were weak. Peeves glided forward, intrigued to know who this mystery person was. There, backed up against a wall, curled up in a ball, was Miss Helena Ravenclaw. Peeves adored Miss Helena, she was beautiful, graceful and smart. And she was crying, Peeves didn't like seeing her cry, even though she still looked beautiful doing it. Peeves wanted to comfort her, to take away her pain, but he wasn't sure if he should. He stood there for a while, but she didn't calm down, so he decided to say something.
"Miss Helena? ... Are you, alright?" Peeves asked her. Miss Helena's head jolted up, startled at the disturbance.
"…Peeves? I I'm fine…I'm perfectly fine." Peeves could tell she was lying, particularly because her eyes were red from crying so much.
"Please, Miss Helena. Tell me what's wrong." Peeves said, he wanted to know what was troubling her, so he could take it away.
Helena Ravenclaw looked at the Poltergeist, It was strange seeing him act so nice towards her, why did he want to know? Was it so he could have something to torment her with? No… she could tell it was something else. He looked like genuinely wanted to help…maybe she could tell him…maybe he would understand. Helena smiled at Peeves.
"Thank you…but it's too complicated." Helena said. He might understand…but what if he didn't? What if…what if he told everyone how horrid she was, how she was a traitor, how she helped him.
"I'm not an idiot! It takes a huge brain to come up with all these pranks!" Peeves exclaimed "Please Miss Helena, let me help you."
"I did something…something bad." Helena said, trying not to look the poltergeist in the eyes. "I didn't mean to…he seemed nice. He seemed normal."
"What do you mean Miss Helena?" Peeves asked, he knelt down in front of her.
"I helped him. I told him where it was," Helena cried. "But I didn't know what he was going to do with it…I swear I didn't" Helena rested her head on her knees
"Him? Who are you talking about Miss Helena? I bet you're talking about Filch, yeah I thought he was pretty normal to" Peeves asked her, Helena looked up at him.
"No Peeves! I'm talking about HIM…You know…You Know Who." She replied with wide eyes.
"And what did you tell him?" Peeves asked, he tried to act like he wasn't getting worried, but even he got scared sometimes.
"Where the diadem was, my Mother's diadem. And he ruined it, he defiled it with dark magic." She wailed
"Miss Helena…" Peeves didn't know what else to say,
"What's going to happen to me? If anyone finds out, I'll be in huge trouble." Helena cried, she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Peeves, what am I going to do?" she mumbled into his chest.
"Please cheer up Miss Helena, we can go tease first years if you like!" Peeves whispered
"That's okay Peeves, I, I should probably go" Helena said, she let go of him and stood up. She started walking away from him but stopped and turned around to face him. "Thank you Peeves."
"No problem! Anything for my favourite ghostie." Peeves grinned.
