She's ready to do it. These guards come into her home, her precious castle that was supposed to be a safe haven, and attack her. No. She knows exactly what she is doing as she pushes the guard closer and closer to the edge. Her power is flowing through her and for the first time in forever she is not worried about hurting someone with it, rather, she wants to hurt them.
Yet, he calls out to her, and she realizes she doesn't want to fully become the monster she thought she was. And what would her sister think if she were to see? A killer? A cold-blooded killer?
Facing him she can see herself, all that she could be cold and wrathful, striking enemies down and inspiring such terror into her people. Except that's never been her. She's always been afraid of that happening, but it's not something she has wanted.
That's when she sees his face turn to the side and gasp.
She gasps too, when the arrow slices through a part of her beautiful gown and into her skin.
"Arrest them!" Prince Hans orders when he sees the ice drop as the Queen does. Then he's on the ground next to her, ripping part of her gown's train and holding it to the wound. Picking her up he carries her towards his trusty horse with the two would be assassins following in chains.
"I saw what happened," one of the men from the search party starts before pausing to look at the other man's face. Seeing no sign of rebuke he continues, "when her majesty was hit by the arrow the ice melted."
"And just think of what it would take the melt all of the ice." The second man replied hand tilted down on his sword.
The Princess returns the following day, so distraught she looks white as the snow.
When Anna sees her sister with her side bandaged and wishes she could feel the relief of knowing her sister is going to live, yet she is too frozen to feel.
"Anna, I'm so sorry. I always wanted to protect you. I never wanted to expose you to the danger that I am. That's why I kept my door shut and the one time I open the gates…"
Kissing her sister's ice-cold forehead she whispers one last farewell as her sister drops unconscious by the fire.
"I've been keeping the real monster inside all these years. Don't you see? The gates were closed to keep me in!"
The storm of snow is furious all around her, but she can still make out his tall figure. His cheeks are flushed with cold and she knows he could end it all here.
"I don't want to be a monster anymore!" She howls into the wind.
"I know." Hans says.
She's ready. She's killed her one and only friend, her sister, and she can feel the fear. For once though her mantra of 'conceal, don't feel' is gone and she opens herself to all the cold, lets it run through her and channel into making herself look like the truly terrific threat she is. He doesn't look at her any different.
His sword is raised and she knows this is it, this is ending, and she is at peace. She knows she can't hurt the sister who she loved anymore and the storm suddenly drops away. The ice is retreating, melting its way back towards its Queen, yet she can't see it. All she can see is the man standing before her with the sword that will end this forever.
"Elsa!" Anna screams running towards her fiancée who was going to kill her sister. "You have control. I love you and you love me. Love will thaw. Please."
Elsa holds Han's gaze and she feel his sword slicing through the air towards her.
"No!" She hears Anna scream, but she knows it won't matter when she is gone because her sister has always been fine without her.
The sword clangs against the ground as her sister reaches her, pulling her against her body, her whole, unharmed body.
Hans lets go of the sword buried in the patch of snow next to her, touching her ungloved hand with his own and says, "I don't want to be a monster either."
