Author's Notes: Just an idea I had rolling around for a while. Let me give you a teaser. My goal is to pick up where the fourth book left off. Now what kind of fans would we be if we just let this fun idea just end? Don't be afraid to review.
PROLOGUE
We were once legends among humans…
Respected, loved, and feared…
But we were necessary…
For humans would not survive without us…
Vampires and Werewolves pillaged humanity…
Killing at will and without formality…
They traveled in packs and covens…
Waging war among the lands…
Devastation kept the population in check…
But all that changed once the Volturi formed…
Vampires grouping together in large numbers…
Sharing talents and intellect…
Striking terror and horror across the world…
Until their memory became storied…
Whispers on the wind…
And eventually they became distant legends…
Tales told at Halloween to scare the children…
They reside in Volterre in the Italian countryside…
A small village ignorant of its curse…
The Volturi reign with iron hands…
Putting fear into others of their own kind…
Maintaining their superior ability above the others…
While humanity remains ignorant…
I hate them with every part of my being…
They will not be allowed to remain…
The reign of the Volturi will come to an end…
The world as I know it will change…
But I am alone…
Nearly the last of my kind…
We were hunted to the brink of extinction…
The Volturi sought our demise with tedious determination…
They relished our extinction hunting us down one by one…
Simply because of what we are…
How we are born…
They fear us…
Hate us for our purpose…
They killed all of my kind…
