"The Truth"

I don't own Max Ride!
AriXMax
They're siblings, aren't they? He's 8 or so and she's 16 or so? That's okay. In the manga they could be a hot couple if you have a bit of imagination. They're like Sasusaku when Sasuke is in mutated lipstick form. Anyway. Enjoy and review!!

The crack they heard as his head hit the cement ricochets off the walls, bringing the cruel reality of fate forward. Max recoiled her fist, in shock at what she had just done. She stumbled backward from Ari, who lay on the ground, blood seeping into the ground under his head.
She never meant to hit him that hard…!
"Max." he breathed. She looked at him, tears in her eyes. "Ari." She whispered. "You… you really…" He felt the blood seeping from his skull. "Ari… I…!" "Max." he managed, his vision blacking out. "Ari, no! Stay with me! Please, don't die!!"
"Max." he repeated, feeling the name roll off his tongue so easily, like clockwork. "Max… I would never hurt you…not this bad. Never… this bad." His eyelids began to flutter. Max bit her lip. Ari began to de-eraser. His skin smoothed out, the extra hair going away.
Max watched him turn back into a man. He was supposed to be only eight or so… he looked… at least seventeen now… she let the tears flow as she gripped the front of his shirt, shaking her head. "Ari, don't leave me! Please! I never meant to…!" She slipped a hand behind his head, only to bring it away covered in blood.
Max had kicked the shit out of plenty of people. She'd been covered in many men's blood. But his was just too much for her. She screamed, gripping the sides of her head. Ari listened to her screams, mentally kicking himself for not being there to comfort her. "Max… come closer…" he said in barely a whisper.
She leaned in close to him, and he held onto her tightly. "Max… I… love you." he managed. She nodded, trying to hold back more tears. "Don't ever… forget me." he said faintly. She shook her head. "No, Ari! You're not going to die! You're going to live and be with me…!!" She was cut off when he abruptly pulled her head down to his and kissed her.
She wrapped her arms around him, hoping somehow life could be like a fairytale and she would revive him with her kiss. Her wings stretched out and But the revival never came. She pulled back from him, tasting his blood that had accumulated in his mouth. "Ari…" she whispered, seeing the light leave his eyes slowly. "Goodbye, Max…" he said with a small smile. With that, his eyes glazed over and he went limp in her arms.
She stayed with him for a long time, crying and shaking her head, refusing to face reality. Finally more erasers found her and she had to run. She had to run away and leave Ari behind. It was all so cruel… the world, her life, and his life. Their love. And how it would never work.

Very short… but I just read the new Max Ride graphic novel and I got weird glimpses of AriXMax in a scene very similar to this scene. But this fic is so short. (Sorry)
And sorry if this pairing freaks you out. I'm writing a steamy FAX to make up for it…
Love, Griffin.
